摘要:In 2005, overall real estate activities
slowed down from the previous year in line
with slowing demand, mainly as a result of
higher oil prices and rising interest rates.
Faced with these challenges, potential home
buyers on average took longer time to
make decisions. In a different financial
environment, some switched to housing types
that suited their purchasing power, for
example, small condominium units in the city
that located close to work with convenient
transportation to save on commuting
expenses. As a result, the number of newly
completed and registered condominium units
in Bangkok and its greater metropolitan area
increased significantly in 2005. In addition,
outstanding mortgage loans continued to
expand, as most home buyers relied on
credits from financial institutions to finance
their purchases.
