摘要:In 2005, the Latin American and Caribbean region is
estimated to have grown by 4.3 percent, the third
consecutive year of expansion following growth of
5.9 percent in 2004. The positive performance was
influenced by strong domestic demand and favourable
conditions in the world economy. In general,
the rise in global commodity prices, fuelled especially
by the appetite of high-growth economies such as
China and India, impacted positively on the export
revenues of some countries within the region. However,
countries largely dependent upon commodity
exports experienced some challenges following
a sequence of adverse weather conditions, as well
as declining tourism and agricultural production.
