摘要:The world economy in 2005 slowed only slightly in
comparison with its strong growth in 2004. Despite a
slowdown in the fourth quarter, the main drivers of the
growth were the economies of the United States and
of East Asia, particularly China, which has maintained
an exceptionally high level of growth. The euro area,
with its business cycle lagging slightly behind that of
the United States, is looking forward to an expected
upswing. Above-average growth, albeit slightly declining,
was sustained by the economies of the new EU
Member States as well as Russia. The recovery of the
Japanese economy also continued in 2005.
