摘要：The Russian economy developed well in
2004. The output of goods and services
grew faster than expected and although the
target set for inflation was exceeded, consumer
price growth last year was lower than in 2003.
Inflation slowed amid nominal gains made by the
ruble against the US dollar and while the real ef
fective rate of the ruble was rising, Russia re
corded a strong balance of payments.
Higher consumer and investor demand facili
tated economic growth. Growth in expenditures
on final consumption and gross capital formation
in 2004 was faster than in 2003 and this may
point to the increased importance of growth in
ternal factors.
