摘要:Preliminary estimations show that the Aruban economy grew in 2006 at virtually the same
pace as in 2005. Fitch Ratings estimates an expansion in real GDP of 2.5 percent (2005: 2.4
percent). Economic expansion was spurred by increased construction and investment activities,
mainly in the hotel and real estate sectors, as well as higher levels of domestic consumption.
However, these effects were partially offset by a weak performance in the tourism sector.
