摘要：The Bank of Japan decides and implements monetary
policy, with the aim of achieving price stability and
thereby contributing to the sound development of the
national economy, as stipulated in Article 2 of the Bank
of Japan Act (hereafter the Act). Monetary policy is
decided by the Policy Board at Monetary Policy Meetings
(MPMs), and money market operations¡ªthe Bank's
day-to-day provision and absorption of funds in the
market¡ªare carried out based on the guideline decided
at each MPM. The Bank held 14 MPMs in fiscal 2007.
