This presentation tries to explain the background and the context of this Special Issue of Learning Technologies (SILT). It focuses on the usage of immersive telelaboratory to learn design expertise at a University-level and to create the relevant Knowledge. The end users addressed are Robot Control Engineering students (future designers) and skilled users of high-tech devices and systems. The immersive telelaboratory is meant as a telelaboratory in telepresence able to provide the richest perception of, and interaction with, the real laboratory devices and environment.
