摘要：In December 2003, the General
Assembly of the United Nations
agreed to open a High-Level
Dialogue on International Migration and
Development, to take place 14 and 15
September 2006 in New York.
This long-awaited initiative is in many
ways a global summit on migration
issues. It will examine the many facets of
international migration and development
and determine ways to maximize its
benefits and minimize its negative effects.
The High-Level Dialogue is intended to
focus on policy issues, and especially the
task of meeting the Millennium
Development Goals.
