摘要:As-end June 2005, private non-bank external debt registered an outstanding of
US$23.1 billion, a slight increase from that during the previous quarter by 0.01 billion. This
was mainly due to some factors; namely, net borrowings reported from Foreign Exchange
and Non-resident Baht account transactions by US$0.4 billion and new borrowings without
corresponding foreign currency inflow (i.e. import payment transfer or investment abroad)
by US$0.2 billion. Meanwhile, recent appreciation of US dollar led to a reduction of debt
existing stock valuation change by US$0.6 billion.
Over the year 2000-2005 Q2, private non-bank external debt constantly declined,
especially upon foreign loans and debt securities categories. Meanwhile Baht denominated
debt, which registered smaller fraction, rose steadily. For 2005 Q2, most of the external
debt, which was long-term debt, declined from the previous quarter while short-term debt
rose substantially.
