摘要：Some readers of this review may remember Thomas Friedman from his previous books.
Friedman is known as the New York Times¡¯s (NYT) in-house columnist in support of
neoliberalism and capitalist ¡°globalization,¡± ¡°free trade¡± and the glories of the Internet. Friedman
is an enormously popular author, cranking out #1 selling nonfiction bestsellers (e.g., The Lexus
and the Olive Tree, 2000; The World Is Flat, 2007) in addition to his NYT work. He is thus an
important scriptwriter for the Washington Consensus, and the fact that he has ¡°gone green¡± in the
process of writing this book deserves notice as a positive development. The ¡°green word¡± will
therein make itself known to large numbers of book-buying members of the public.
