摘要：This paper analyses the Spanish editions and translations of two works by Friar
Luís de Granada, written perhaps in Portuguese (Compendio de doctrina Christãa
and Treze sermões), and published in a single volume in 1559, as well as his
homilies. We explore the general thematic lines, how the texts are organized
and, especially, the strategies of argumentation and persuasion, particularly
prevalent in the latter texts. We then seek to specify the ethical, affective
and pragmatic aspects and the rhetorical figures used to consolidate them. To
conclude, reference is made to Friar Luís’s opinion on the importance of the
sermon within mass liturgy.
