摘要:Evaluation of results from official exams revealed that Brazilian primary
and secondary school children have not attained the required performance
expected at this teaching level during the last years. Current research, based
on the historical and cultural theory, discusses the impact of pupils’ low
school performance in their formation and human development. It also presupposes
that the appropriation of symbolical instruments is the process through which
each subject produces the development attained by human beings.
