摘要:On the basis of the results of the INSEE survey about beneficiaries of the RMI, we seek to evaluate the empirical relevance of the analysis in terms of unemployment traps, according to which the beneficiaries of the RMI couldn't have financial incentives to accept to work. Unemployment traps don't work very much for the beneficiaries of the RMI. Firstly, the unemployed beneficiaries are very active in their job search and rarely refuse a job and even more rarely for financial reasons. They are more confronted with an insufficiency of labour demand than the other unemployed people. Secondly, nearly a third of the beneficiaries, have accepted a job without any financial profit. But, for most of them, employment provides a well-being ; they feel more self-reliant and socially integrated. Maybe, they also hope to reach later a better job, which in fact remains difficult. The risk for the RMI beneficiaries is thus more a poverty trap than an unemployment trap. Indeed, they most often have "bad jobs" and remain confined in a secondary sector, with a very low probability of migration towards a primary sector composed of "good jobs".
