Archaeozoology, a discipline at the crossroads of the social and natural sciences, developed in France under the influence of Francois Poplin. Through the analysis of a selection of his archaeozoological and anthropozoological writings, the development of this author's signature style will be presented. We will pay particular attention to some of the more characteristic aspects of Poplin's writing.
