摘要：Delegates to the Johannesburg Summit in
2002 agreed a goal to expand access to sanitation.
Over a billion people lack access to
clean drinking water (a problem cited two years
earlier in the Millennium Development Goals)
and 2.4 billion do not have access to proper sanitation.
Reaching the agreed goal of halving the
proportion of people in the world who lack water
supply and sanitation by 2015 will require global
efforts. Environmental scientists must be involved
in seeking the solutions.
