摘要:Some eLearning is shaped by over-indulgence in design
rather than thoroughness in identifying what learners need
from it.
Much of it starts with a request from someone influential
within an organisation. It often sounds like this, ¡°Can you give
us a course on ...? Can we have it by¡?¡±
And so the course is created and run according to deadlines,
regardless of whether or not it is a good course. The method
and medium is justified on the basis of logistics and economics
only ¨C eLearning is fast enough and dispersed enough to meet
the demand, but it may be the wrong medium for meeting the
need. No-one questions whether or not training by any method
is the most appropriate way of meeting the underlying
organisational need. Nor does anyone ask whether that
underlying need is real or supposed.
