travellers with a far away look, minimal
neat luggage and an expectation of businessas-
usual when they land in their target country.
Some will go on to negotiate, manage and
request information in the new territory in
much the same way as they would at home.
How many, though, will need that extra
G&T on the flight back as they review their
excuses for failure and think of how to justify
the direct costs just incurred and the indirect
costs of disaster ¨C in terms of time and profit
as well as the damage done to the company¡¯s
plans, prestige and progress?
