摘要：This study focuses on Kirghiz epic poems and how thesepoems affected the social structure The paper includes historicalsources of social and heroic epic poems and a brief summary of theircontent. The characteristics of protogonists, functions of male andfemale protogonists within the texs and their social roles are alsoinvestigated. Finally, how epic poems influnced contemprary Kirghizsociety is scrutiniced in the conlusion section.
