摘要：We analyze the evolution of the economic development and demography in 38 countries of Africa, during the period 2000-2005, in comparison with the World average, as well as the relationships between economic development, health expenditure and education. Althoug we can notice a slight improvement in Africa as whole during that period, that is not enough to get a percentage of increase of the Gross Domestic Product per inhabitant close to world average. We estimate three equations to measure the positive impact of education on real income and expenditure on health per inhabitant. Given the uppermost importance of education for socio-economic development, se present some suggestions of interest to foster international cooperation to help educational development in Africa.
