摘要:This essay examines more than ten translations in modern languages of the version in ancient Greek of the Old Testament, called the Septuagint. The result shows that international scholarly translation projects of the Septuagint avoid discussing theological concepts and neglect the issue of the inspiration of biblical texts in general. Other enterprises, based in the Catholic, Orthodox or even private areas, have no fear of affirming its inspired character. However, these authors can offer no cogent arguments. It seems that at the present moment, the discussion regarding the inspiration of the Septuagint is a topic which only certain Christian confessions are interested in. Nevertheless, the newly discovered relationship among ancient biblical texts, as elaborated by D. Barthélemy and E. Tov in the last decades, makes it possible to extend this discussion beyond confessional interests.
