摘要:The aim of this study is to determine the contribution of small-group coaching to the course ¡®School
Experience II¡¯ with regard to prospective teachers¡¯ professional development. In this case study consisted of four
prospective teachers, a small group coaching was carried out in addition to the theoretic courses at the faculty. In
this sense, they were asked to respond about ¡°what they have done¡¯, ¡®which obstacles they have faced, if ever¡±
and ¡®what they have learned¡¯, and the process was controlled throughout the course. The findings of the research
indicated that prospective teachers developed their knowledge and skills through activities they performed, and
also the coaching processes contributed to their affective learning. In terms of prospective teachers¡¯ professional
development, the level of students, time and physical requirements was considered in addition to the
implementations of the activities. Also, it can be implicated that the effective factors are applicant teachers, the
evaluation system administered to students and physical environment in order to cope with the problems faced
during practice process. Thus, it was suggested that lecturers at faculties should carry out small group coaching,
even one-on-one coaching if necessary.
