has increased at a rapid rate since the
fi nancial crisis started in summer 2007.
This is somewhat surprising given the current
economic situation, particularly as companies
are painting a picture through various surveys
of experiencing diffi culties in obtaining
funding. This box provides a current status
report on companies¡¯ funding possibilities
and explains why Financial market statistics
and surveys provide different pictures of
developments.
