摘要:These questions are typical of the working
methods and research interests of the
new holder of the chair at the Institute for
Finance & Banking at the Ludwig Maximilian
University (LMU) in Munich in the faculty
of business management/Munich School of
Management. Prof. Ralf Elsas has held this
chair since the winter semester of 2005/2006.
The mission statement on the university website
at www.bank.bwl.uni-muenchen.de explains
that through its teaching and research
programme the Institute offers students an
academic, methodically oriented and practical
education for demanding positions in the
area of banking and associated institutes.
Prof. Elsas¡¯ research interests also lie in the
point of intersection between corporate finance
and modern banking management.
His works deal particularly with empirical aspects
in these areas which can also contribute
to resolving the conflict between various
theoretical explanatory approaches.
