The authors of this article first explore the intervention they suggest in the province of Québec, where manifestations of behaviour problems, notably aggressiveness and violence among young people, especially among boys, is a disturbing phenomenon. They then examine contributing family factors. They also explain the foundations of family interventions aimed at preventing these behaviour problems and different intervention program orientations, including those of the program, "Being Parents Today". They go on to describe the context and implementation of an experimental action plan designed to study the effects of this program on parenting skills and adolescent behaviour at home and at school, putting particular emphasis on evaluation instruments created for this purpose. In conclusion, they state that since experiments with families are still underway in the Laurentian School Board, no results of this study are available yet.
