Finding solutions to such a problem can be a difficult task for teachers. In this article, a teacher asks the researcher to help solve a problem situation - the chronic chatting of a large proportion of students during lessons. To understand what was causing the problem, the researcher used construct analysis, a tool that allows participants to work together to build meaning in a specific context. With the teacher’s consent, the researcher used this tool with students in the class to allow them to clearly define why they talk constantly at inopportune moments. The article shows how this co-analysis tool promotes the involvement of each student and of the entire group in a reflection process that demonstrates the complexity of their perceptions. After the analysis was completed with the help of the tool, it was easy for the students to identify effective measures to decrease their incessant talking. In so doing, they demonstrated their ability to self-regulate.
