摘要：This article aims to analyse how coastal sector of Gipuzkoa (Orio, Zarauz and Guetaria) was developed during the «XVIIth century crisis» and what tools its inhabitants used to overcome the difficulties. In fact, it aims to analyse and to find out what mechanisms they used to carry out the restructuring and transformation of their activities. Trade, shipbuilding and fishing were the main economic activities related to the sea in the mentioned area. All of them had to carry out some restructurings to adapt to the changing economic reality of that time.
