摘要:The absence of the deaf community at
University of Antioquia, is a situation which deserves
some thinking and reflected upon with a special
consideration, since in a University which proclaims
equality and equity principles, there is no distinction
or discrimination based on the people who are
enrolled, it is important and necessary to take into
account the deaf community within its professional
training programs as a contribution to the
strengthening of a quality education for everyone.
The research project entitled ¡°The absence of a
Deaf community at University of Antioquia: an
approach from the Social Representations,¡± is
backed by the Study and Research Group on
Special Education ¨C GRESEE- from the research line
in language, communication and identity and the
Research Group DIVERSER, both of which belong to
University of Antioquia, aimed at knowing the needs
and expectations of the Deaf community, with
regards to the admission process to our Alma
Mater, apart from identifying their life stories, their
linguistic, cultural, academic and communicative
conditions, in particular to their admittance, and in
this way, generate dialogues of knowledge which
will face the social representations, that of a Deaf
person and of deafness, which are present at the
university level.
