摘要:This current study consists of a description of the use of games of chance and video games by the students, instructors and employees at Saint Bonaventure University, Medellin Branch and its relationship with the psychological dimension with variables like the following: difficulties in concentration, change in mood, physical discomfort, preference to games than to sports and preference to distension than to games; in this first stage, partial results in students are shown. For this, it was applied, in a first stage, a questionnaire to a sample of 461 students, of a population of 2,930 freshmen students as of 2006, for a 95% of validity and a margin of error of 5%, in further stages the very same questionnaire will be given to both instructors and employees. For the systematization and the statistical analysis, the Epi-info program was used. It is important to notice that this study is endorsed by the Inter-disciplinary Group of Psycho-social Studies in Addictions - GIEPSA, which belongs to the Research Center and Attention to the Drug addict - CIAF, directed by Francisco Javier Arias Zapata.
