摘要:Most police services and agencies around the world are expected to maintain and enforce the law while at the same time coordinating multi-pronged crime prevention efforts on behalf of the communities they serve. The question is whether this "marriage" can work? The author argues from a police occupational and organisational (sub)culture perspective that this relationship has been doomed to fail from the start as this will create a "Catch-22-Policing" situation and lead to "police-think".
