摘要:The purpose of this paper is to present modern tennis science to a wider scientific audience. A biomechanical analysis of tennis shots and the corresponding racket/ball dynamics is presented together with its analogy with handball throws. The main difference between these two sport games is in the tennis racket (as an additional body segment with its inertial and elastic characteristics). This presents anatomical, physiological and biomechanical analysis of the tennis serve, forehand and backhand, as well as a 3D Newton-Euler dynamical analysis of the tennis racket motion during these shots. In the future, numerical simulations will necessarily support similar analysis, together with the racket stress-strain elasticity analysis, as well as experimental measurement based on inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyroscopes, embedded in the frame of a racket) for tracking velocities and accelerations of a player's movements in the tennis serve, forehand and backhand.
