摘要:Food prices increased sharply in
many countries in line with the
international price boom. In others,
domestic food prices did not follow the
increase in world prices or were slow to
adjust. Unless higher prices actually reach
agricultural producers in developing
countries, those producers will not benefit
from increasing prices on world markets
and they will have no incentive to increase
productivity and production. There are
two questions to consider: first, do
international price changes lead to price
changes at national level; and second, if
national prices do change, do they filter
through to producers?
