  • 摘要:Americans are dining out more often than ever, boosting the amount spent at eating places from 26 percent of food expenditures in 1970 to 39 percent in 1996. This trend may lower the nutritional quality of consumers¡¯ diets, since food away from home is generally higher in fat and saturated fat, and lower in fiber and calcium than is food at home. Food at home is that purchased at retail stores; food away from home consists of foods obtained from foodservice and entertainment establishments¡ªsee box for more details.
