摘要：The Danish Council of Ethics was created
by the Danish Parliament and began its
work in 1988. 2005 was the Council¡¯s 18th
year in operation. For the Council of Ethics
2005 became the first year with new responsibilities,
its sphere of operation
having been extended on 1 January 2005 so
as also to include ethical problems in biotechnology
with a bearing on nature, the
environment and foodstuffs. Until that
time the Council had dealt exclusively with
bioethics in the field of health. This expansion
of the Council of Ethics¡¯ remit was
accompanied by a reconstitution of the
Council. As a result, at its meeting in
January 2005, half the Council consisted of
members who had sat in on such a meeting
and half of members for whom attendance
at the Council was something entirely
new.
