摘要：We review work on the minimum energy con gurations of the Faddeev-
Skyrme model. The model contains a unit vector- eld de ned in the three dimensional
space and pointing to a xed direction at spatial in nity, the eld con gurations are partially
characterized by the Hopf charge. This model, proposed by Faddeev in 1975, allows
for localized and stable nite-energy con gurations with nonzero Hopf charge. We discuss
the deformation process of (linked) unknots in which a given initial vector- eld evolves
to the minimum energy con guration under dissipative dynamics.
