We present a theoric exploration of the intrapsychic processes involved in this relationship and their impact in the reduction of the gap between the parents and the professionals who interacts with their children. Two orientations are analyzed : a) the compensation type intervention which does not involve the family in decision making and favors its dependence to the social services; and b) the socio-constructivist intervention which supports the empowerment process and the development of the autonomy. We will analyze this dynamic with the help of Bronfenbrenner's and Vygotsky's work, to improve our understanding of the process in stake and to help to establish links among the social contexts, the gaining of power and self-ascendancy.
