摘要:The Ross Sea¡¯s toothfi sh fi shery is one of the deepest longline
fi sheries in the world, with the average line set to 1200 m by
bottom longliners. Toothfi sh have also been caught at depths
of more than 2200 m.
In the Ross Sea, smaller Antarctic toothfi sh are mainly found
on the southern shelf and around the Balleny Islands at
depths of 200-800 m. Larger adult fi sh are commonly found
on the continental slope in depths of 800-1500 m. Research
suggests that Antarctic toothfi sh migrate from shallow to
deeper water as they get older.
