摘要:One of the most noticeable
changes in American eating
habits in recent years is the
increased popularity of dining out.
In fact, spending on food away from
home rose from 26 percent of the
total food budget in 1970 to 40 percent
in 1994. With dining out expected
to continue on an upward
trend, it becomes important to analyze
how the foods chosen when
eating away from home influences
the quality of American diets¡ª
particularly when it comes to children.
Children are eating an increasing
proportion of meals outside the
home, mainly in fast food places,
but also in school.
