摘要:Internal migration is the most important factor for increasing the number and proportion of the
urban population, many towns having experienced large migrant waves once the industrialization process
began. Migration, together with significant natural increase, was the cause for the augmentation of the
urbanization rate. The paper aims at rendering the most significant changes in the migration flows during
the 1977-2002 period. The structure of the population for Oltenia towns based on the place of origin is of
great importance for the demographic, social and economic analysis of the region s population, indication
the urbanization and industrialization processes.
