摘要：Isaac Newton.s (1642-1727) contribution to the quantitative aspects of
mathematics are well known compared to his views on it.s qualitative aspect. In this paper,
the author attempts to examine Newton.s position with regard to the orientation of
mathematical problems based on some of his own writings on the subject.
