摘要:The Edoardo Villa Museum is located in the
Old Merensky Library building on the main
campus of the University of Pretoria. The
building was designed by Gerard Moerdyk, a
South African architect, and was inaugurated
on 11 October 1937. It was originally designed
by Moerdyk as a pre-study for the Voortrekker
Monument just outside Pretoria and obtained
National Monument status in 1990. The Old
Merensky Library building has served many
functions through the years, and became the
site of the Edoardo Villa Museum on 31 May
1995, on the occasion of Villa's eightieth
birthday.
