摘要：Despite the clear accounts of the removal during
the renovations of Chambers and Hay in the 1870s
of large amount of human bones and burials from
areas within the church, particularly on its south
side and within the Choir, the results of the excavations
in the South Choir Aisle in 1981 demonstrated
that the majority of the deposits and burials in this
area had remained intact. Limited disturbance to
the upper levels of archaeological deposits and a
general reduction of the surface of the later medieval
phases had clearly occurred in Period 4, but the
lower, medieval, levels remained in situ, disturbed
only the excavation of localized, discrete intrusions.
