摘要:Heavy minerals of Neogene and Pleistocene alluvial sandy-gravelly deposits were examined in 14 sites located in the San-Dniester depression between Przemyśl and Vendycany. Their qualitative composition is similar both in the fraction 0.25-0.1 and 0.1-0.05 mm in all analysed samples. Zircon, garnet and rutile are main transparent minerals indicating that source material for these old alluvial deposits came both from local weathered crystalline substratum and from weathered and redeposited Carpathian flysch rocks. Quantitative variability of selected mineral classes and groups is presented in spatial arrangement, i.e. from NW to SE. Statistical analysis is applied in order to determine similarity and separateness between the mean contents of individual heavy minerals in two analysed fractions and in Neogene and Pleistocene deposits. An attempt is made to estimate the influence of heavy minerals composition in alluvial deposits on their spectrum in the overlying loess.
