摘要:This text discusses the meaning of including sateré-mawé teachers in a research team that
investigated aspects of the sociocultural and educational reality of this nation. The research
resulted from articulation between Organization of Indigenous Teachers and University. The
sateré-mawé teachers participated in the Project as scholarship holders, experimenting leaving the
position of researched subject to occupy that of researcher. The investigation showed that the
research was an important instrument of education of indigenous people and for valorizing culture,
besides being a tool for fighting for a better life, although this might imply the emergence of a
certain dispute among the indigenous people. For the researchers it represented intercultural
learning and the real possibility of constructing another epistemological paradigm called ecology
of knowledges.
