摘要:This research presents the field in which the institutionalization of "Democratic Management of
Public Education" provided the principle of public education in 1988 through the Brazilian
Constitution. It introduces a new type of school organization, no longer based on the assumptions
of the, but the principles of management, perceived as more democratic. Thus, using the procedure
of review of literature, there is the proposition of reviewing the theoretical formation of the field in
which these rules are defined to identify and understand the advanced theoretical concepts that
build the foundations of school administration in Brazil; the principles of school management are
in the context in which critics are made to the model of school administration and management,
and identify the elements that converge to the institutionalization of democratic school
management, distinguishing the changes and continuities in relation to the first elaborations of this
field.
