摘要:One of the results of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita was a sudden and widespread public recognition that energy facilities are heavily concentrated on the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. As these storms limited the production, processing and movement of U.S. energy products, the unfolding events in Texas and Louisiana became a compelling pocketbook issue throughout the United States. This article reviews the reasons for the concentration of so much energy activity on the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast and documents the extent of this concentration in both production and processing of oil and natural gas
