摘要：In this paper we try to identify Emerging Economies in Africa. We see that there are quite different definitions and concepts of Emerging Economies in the discussion. These definitions and concepts are compared and evaluated. We also observe that Af-rica shows diverging economic trends – by geographic regions (North-, South-, West-, East-, and Central Africa), by steadiness of growth rates (countries with growth epi-sodes or rather being on a sustainable growth path), and by economic opportunities (along the categories of being landlocked, coastal or natural resource-rich). We can say that Emerging Economies in Africa can be found in all these categories. We iden-tify in the paper also the degree of integration of African economies into the world economy in order to study the economic interest of foreign investors, this being a most important criterion for a country becoming an emerging economy. When we see what foreign investors prefer and how they allocate funds to African countries we can better assess the degree of an African country becoming an Emerging Economy, and we can identify the factors that lead a country in this direction. Various measures of the degree and the forms of global integration of African countries are presented. These discussions lead to a package of reforms that might help to achieve the status of an Emerging Economy in Africa. Intra-African programmes and policies are in this context as well important, and NEPAD is a unique chance to speed up Emerging Af-rica. The potential and the perspectives of African Emerging Economies are on the whole remarkable and rather favourable.
