摘要：This paper explains the definitions of globalization and convergence and the fundamental
work of Robert Solow on convergence, including some additions and some references to the
actual convergence debate. Then three scientific papers will be presented and interpreted.
It will be obvious, that these three papers could be improved because they are overly concentrated
on the economic aspects of the growth process of states. Growth however depends
largely on political, cultural, social and geographical factors and even on timing.
For future research it is advisable, in order to evaluate different growth paths of states, to
consider only small groups of states, and only those states which are really comparable, at
least in some major aspects.
