摘要:The preoccupation about the regional aspects has been a constant in research
studies nowadays because of the accelerated technological and organizational changes, the
globalization and metropolitization process and the changes on the role of States in the
economy. The State of Parana stands out in Brazil as the fifth State in terms of GDP
participations and became an interesting object for regional questions. In this sense, the
objectives of this article were to estimate the sector linkages and the overflowing of the
production multiplier between the North region of Parana and the rest of the State, using the
interregional input-output matrix estimated for the year of 1995. The main result was that the
rest of the State showed more dependence than the North of Parana in relation to the answers
to the input requirements for food processing sectors when facing growth in its final demand.
Despite this, the overflowing effect of the production multiplier towards North of Parana-Rest
of Parana reached 12%, showing bigger dependence from the North in relation to the Rest of
the state to its productive process in general.
