摘要:This paper presents an assessment of stresses produced in an induction motor when the motor is allowed to run under open-circuit and short-circuit conditions. A generalized dynamic model of a three-phase squirrel cage induction motor has been developed using d and q variables in a synchronously rotating reference frame. This model can predict performance of the motor during open-circuit and short-circuit conditions. The simulation results are obtained from two squirrel cage induction motors, sized 3 hp and 2250 hp.
