摘要:Michael (1982) proposed the establishing operation concept, which refers to events, operations, or conditions that enhance the reinforcing value of a stimulus and increase the frequency of behaviors that lead to this stimulus as a consequence. A parallel concept, abolishing operation, is an event, operation, or condition that decreases the reinforcing value of a stimulus and decreases the frequency of behaviors that lead to this stimulus as a consequence (Michael, 1982). Typically, deprivation functions as an establishing operation and satiation functions as an abolishing operation.
